Who is responsible

Graham Smith, trading as G.S. Joinery & Building, is responsible for personal information sent to the business. For privacy questions, use the email address at the foot of this page.

What we receive

If you call or email, we receive the details you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, property location and information about the work. The website itself has no enquiry form, account system, advertising pixels or analytics cookies.

Why we use it

We use enquiry details to respond, discuss the proposed work and prepare a quote or next steps. This is necessary to take steps at your request before a possible contract and for our legitimate interest in handling genuine enquiries. If work goes ahead, we use the information needed to carry out the job and meet record-keeping obligations.

Who handles it

The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes technical request information to deliver and protect the website. Email enquiries are handled through the business Hotmail account, provided by Microsoft. We share relevant project details with specialist trades only where needed to discuss or carry out the work. We do not sell enquiry information or use it for mailing lists.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become a job are kept for up to 12 months after the last contact, then reviewed and deleted unless there is a clear reason to keep them longer. If work goes ahead, relevant records are kept for as long as needed for the job and any applicable legal or accounting requirements. Hosting providers retain technical records under their own schedules.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to some uses or ask for processing to be restricted. These rights depend on the circumstances and legal requirements. Contact the business by email and we will respond. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Hosting and transfers

Vercel and Microsoft may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the providers use applicable transfer safeguards. Ask us if you would like more information about how your enquiry is handled.
